Exporting local log data to a file
You can export the log data to a file in a comma-separated value (.csv) format. You can choose a date range and time range for which you want to export data. You can also select one or more types of log entries that you want to export.
If you try to download large log files during periods of peak usage, the performance of Symantec Protection Engine might be affected.
- To export local log data to a file
- In the console on the primary navigation bar, clickReports.
- In the sidebar underViews, clickDetailed.
- In the content area underLog View Page, in theDate range fromboxes, type the start date and end dates for the date range that you want.Use the following date format:MM/DD/YYFor example, 02/25/08 is February 25, 2008.
- In theTime range fromboxes, type the daily start times and the end times for the time range that you want.Use the following time format:HH:MM:SSUse a 24-hour time format. For example, 23:30:00 is 11:30 P.M.
- Check any activities for which you want to export the log data.Check all of the options that apply.PressCtrl+Ato select all items in every category. PressCtrl+Zto unselect all items in every category.
- In the sidebar underTasks, clickExport (CSV).
- In theSave logsdialog box, in theSave inlist, select the file location where you want to save the report.
- In theFile namebox, type the file name, and then clickSave.
