Variables (ACVAR) Properties

Use the Variables (ACVAR class) properties windows for creating, modifying, or viewing a record of this class. Each record defines a variable that is deployed on an endpoint. You cannot deactivate this class.

Use the Variables (ACVAR class) properties windows for creating, modifying, or viewing a record of this class. Each record defines a variable that is deployed on an endpoint. You cannot deactivate this class.
This window contains the following fields in the General tab:
  • Name
    Defines the name of the resource. Indicates the name of the variable.
  • Comment
    Defines extra information that you want to include in the record. CA Privileged Identity Manager does not use this information for authorization.
    Limit:
     255 alphanumeric characters
  • Owner
    Defines the owner of a record.
This window contains the following fields in the Values tab:
  • Add Value
    For new or user-defined variables, adds a value of a type you define.
    The variable type specifies how the CA Privileged Identity Manager resolves the variable value.
    You cannot create built-in variables.
  • Variable Values
    Defines the value that a variable resolves to. Each value contains the following information:
    • Value
      Defines the value of the variable. The variable value can be static or based on system information or the registry (Windows).
    • Value Type
      Specifies the type of variable. 
      Values:
       Built-in, OS Variable, Registry Value, Static Value
  • Variable Expanded Values
    Displays the variable values and expands any nested variables within the variable values.
  • Policies
    Display the list of policy versions (POLICY objects) that use this variable on this endpoint.
This window contains the following fields in the Information tab:
  • Update Time
    Displays the date and time when the record was last modified.
  • Updated By
    Displays the administrator who performed the update.
  • Create Time
    Indicate the date and time when a record gets created.
