Enable Proxy Session Recording on the Enterprise Console

The Proxy Session Recording feature is disabled by default on the CA Privileged Identity Manager. You enable the Proxy Session Recording feature to monitor the shared user activities on an enterprise endpoint.

The Proxy Session Recording feature is disabled by default on the CA Privileged Identity Manager. You enable the Proxy Session Recording feature to monitor the shared user activities on an enterprise endpoint. 
Note:
 Select the Enable Proxy Session Recording feature on an endpoint under Privileged Accounts, Endpoints, Create/Modify Endpoint as well as this feature to record activities on an endpoint.
Follow these steps: 
  1. In the CA Privileged Identity Manager Enterprise Console, go to 
    System
    Connection Management
    ,
     Proxy Session Recording
    .
  2. Select 
    Enable Proxy Session Recording
     to enable the Proxy recording feature.
  3. Click 
    Submit
    .
 You have enabled the Proxy Session Recording feature.
Configure the Proxy Session Recording Parameters 
  • Recording File Size
    Defines in MB the maximum recording session size.
    Valid Values:
     0 (unlimited) to 1024 (MB)
    Default:
     1MB
  • Session Duration Time
    Defines in minutes the maximum recording session duration.
    Valid Values:
     A numeric value from 0 (No limit)
    Default:
     240 minutes
  • Session Idle Time
    Defines in minutes the maximum time a session can remain idle.
    Valid Values:
     A numeric value from 0 (No limit)
    Default: 20 min
  • Session Termination Timeout
    Defines in minutes the maximum session timeout. When the limit is reached, a warning message is displayed and the session is terminated.
    Valid Values:
     A numeric value from 0 (session closes immediately). There is no upper limit.
    Default:
     3 minutes
 
Note:
 Session recording data is available for sessions terminated due to timeout or abnormal session termination.
