The Choose Entity step in the Import Metadata wizard lets you specify the specific entry from a file to import. This dialog displays a list of available entities.
Only select one entry from the file, even though the metadata file can contain more than one entry.
Sometimes the selected metadata file has expired entries, or entries that are not yet valid. In this case, the next dialog displays a list of expired entries. You cannot select these expired entries. The list is for your reference. When all entries are invalid, the wizard displays a message so stating.
The table contains the following columns:
- Entity IDDisplays the ID of the entity. The value is taken from the metadata file.
- Entity Name/Partnership NameDisplays the name of the entity or partnership, depending on the selection in the first step. If you create an entity, the name field requires input and the value must be unique. Do not duplicate a name already in the system. If you are updating an entity, the table displays a drop-down list of entity names of the correct type and location.
- Entity TypeIndicates whether the entity is a SAML or WS-Federation asserting or relying entity.
- Entity LocationIndicates further information about the entity. The status indicators are:
- LocalStates that the entity is local to your system.
- RemoteIndicates that the entity is a remote entity.
