Running a simulation of the LDAP Directory synchronization

Complete the following steps to run a simulation before the LDAP Synchronization Service is run to verify that the changes are correct.
LDAP Synchronization makes changes to your user data on the VIP Authentication Service. You should run a simulation before the LDAP Synchronization Service is run (either manually, or automatically on schedule) to verify that the changes are correct. If the LDAP Directory Synchronization service makes changes to your VIP Authentication Service previously, you can also revert those changes by selecting a previous version from this page.
  1. To run a simulation of the LDAP Directory synchronization:
  2. From the
User Store > LDAP Directory Synchronization
page, do one of the following steps:
    • If you are configuring your LDAP Directory Synchronization service for the first time or modifying an existing configuration, click
      Run Simulation
      after entering the configuration settings.
    • If you are running a simulation without modifying the settings, click
      Run Simulation
      .
The simulation runs in the background. You receive an email when the simulation is complete. Review the simulation results to verify that the changes are correct before performing any synchronization.
  3. Once you are notified that the simulation is complete, return to the
User Store > LDAP Directory Synchronization
page to review the changes. If the changes are correct, select
    Choose this version
    and click
    Submit
    . Click
    Undo Changes
to see details of the user data that is to be changed.
If multiple versions are available, select the version with the correct changes.
The service runs automatically at the next scheduled time. However, you can optionally run a manual synchronization after verifying the simulated changes.
