Configuring optional VIP user attributes to enhance user search

You can configure VIP user attributes in the
Edit User Store
page to help administrators search for and identify users in VIP Manager.
You can configure the following VIP user attributes:
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Employee ID
  • Department
Complete the following steps to configure the VIP user attributes:
  1. In the
    User Store
    tab of the
    User Stores
    page, do one of the following steps:
    • Click the name of the user store for which you want to configure VIP user attributes.
    • In the
      Action
      column of the user store for which you want to configure VIP user attributes, click
      Edit
      .
  2. In the resulting
    Edit User Stores
    page, click the
    VIP User Settings
    tab.
  3. Under
    VIP User Attributes
    , do one of the following steps:
    • To add user attributes for the first time, click
      Add New
      .
    • To edit existing user attributes, click
      Edit
      .
  4. Select the VIP user attribute that you want to configure and enter the value for that user attribute. To add more VIP user attributes, click the plus icon to the right of the last user attribute.
    You can configure the following fields. When you are finished, click
    Submit

    Field
    Description
    First Name
    Specify the attribute that stores the first name of the user in your LDAP directory. For example,
    givenName
    in AD.
    Last Name
    Specify the attribute that stores the last name of the user in your LDAP directory. For example,
    sn
    in AD.
    Email Address
    Specify the attribute that stores the employee ID of the user in your LDAP directory. For example,
    employeeID
    in AD.
    Employee ID
    Specify the attributes that store the email address of the user in your LDAP directory. For example,
    mail
    in AD.
    Department
    Specify the attribute that stores the name of the department where the user belongs in your LDAP directory. For example,
    department
    in AD.
You can also add or edit VIP user group mapping from this tab.
