Configuring Registration Email settings
Configure VIP Enterprise Gateway to send emails to your users with instructions for registering with VIP.
You can have VIP Enterprise Gateway send registration emails to any users that are added to VIP Enterprise Gateway or that have not registered credentials if you have enabled My VIP or Self Service Portal. You can configure how often VIP Enterprise Gateway sends these emails, and can configure the content of the email.
- To configure your Registration Email settings:
- From theSettings > Registration Email Settingspage, clickEdit.
- Complete the following fields as required and clickSave:FieldDescriptionGeneral SettingsHost NameEnter the IP Address (in IPV4 format) or fully qualified domain name of the SMTP server. You must configure an SMTP server to send registration emails.PortEnter the port number on which the SMTP server listens.User NameEnter the user name required to access the SMTP server.PasswordEnter the password required to access the SMTP server.Enable SSLSelectYesif the SMTP server is protected by an SSL certificate. The certificate must be a self-signed certificate using 12.0.0.1 as the IP.Communication FrequencyStartSet when VIP Enterprise Gateway begins sending registration emails. SelectStart Nowto begin sending registration emails immediately, or selectOnand schedule a date in the future.StopSet when VIP Enterprise Gateway stops searching for new users and sending registration emails. SelectNever, set a specific date, or set the number of times to send registration emails before stopping.Repeat EverySet how often VIP Enterprise Gateway searches for new users and sends registration emails. Set the number of days that VIP Enterprise Gateway waits between sending registration emails. Also set the time that VIP Enterprise Gateway sends them.Log SettingsLogging LevelSpecify the preferred logging level for events associated with registration emails. Select the appropriate level from the drop-down list:
- DEBUG: The log captures general details, and stack traces of all exception events.
- INFO: The log captures general details that are needed to track how the server is functioning. The Logging component accepts and logs debug messages from any other components.
- ERROR: The log captures details of events that hinder the server or transaction, but which may still allow the server to function (except events that affect the server).
Number of Files to KeepFrom the drop-down list, select the number of previous files to be stored on the server.Log Rotation IntervalFrom the drop-down list, set the interval (in days) at which log files roll.Enable SyslogBy default, VIP Enterprise Gateway writes logs to standard log files. You can configure VIP Enterprise Gateway to use syslog to write logs to a syslog server. SelectYesto enable writing Registration Email logs to syslog. You must configure Syslog Settings (Logs>Syslog Settings) for this feature to work.VIP Registration Email TemplateEnter a Subject and Body for the registration email that VIP Enterprise Gateway sends to new users. Include a link to either My VIP or the Self Service Portal where users can register, as appropriate. Find this link on theSettings > Self Service Portal IdPpage.
