Configuring SMTP Server settings

You can configure an SMTP server that VIP Enterprise Gateway can use to send Health Check email notifications to administrators and registration emails to users.
VIP Enterprise Gateway supports the following protocols:
  • SMTP
  • LOGIN PLAIN
  • DIGEST-MD5
  • NTLM
  • XOAUTH2
  • EXTERNAL Authoritative
  • SMTP relays

  2. From the
    Settings > SMTP Server Settings
    page, click
    Enable
    .
  3. Complete the following fields, as required:
    Field
    Description
    Host Name
    Enter the IP address (in IPV4 format) or fully qualified domain name of the SMTP server.
    Port
    Enter the port number on which the SMTP server listens.
    Enable SSL
    Select
    Yes
    if the SMTP server is protected by an SSL certificate. The certificate must be a self-signed certificate using 12.0.0.1 as the IP.
    Auth-based SMTP Server
    Select
    Yes
    if the SMTP server uses basic authentication for access. If you select
    Yes
    , you must also provide the user name and password to access the SMTP server.
    Sender's Email Address
    Enter the sender's email address to display to recipients of emails sent by this SMTP server.
    Recipient's Email Address
    Enter the email address that recipients should use to reply to emails sent by this SMTP server (if different from the sender's email address).
  4. Click
    Test
    to test the SMTP email server configuration. VIP Enterprise Gateway sends a test email to the Recipient's Email Address.
  5. Click
    Save
    to apply the changes.
