Importing VIP Enterprise Gateway configuration settings
After you configure a new instance of VIP Enterprise Gateway, you can import the configuration settings from an existing instance of VIP Enterprise Gateway.
Before importing your settings, you must first export them from another version of VIP Enterprise Gateway. See Exporting VIP Enterprise Gateway configuration settings for procedures. VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.8 and higher supports imports from any VIP Enterprise Gateway version that is 9.1 and higher.
If you upgraded to VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.11, the backup file created during the upgrade process also includes an unencrypted copy of the configuration settings file.
Note the following special considerations:
- If you already have CA certificates on the target instance of VIP Enterprise Gateway, these CA certificates are overwritten during the import.
- From VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.8 onwards, User ID - LDAP Password - Security Code (Access Challenge Mode) is deprecated. User ID - LDAP Password - Security Code (Access Challenge Mode) is migrated as Custom Validation Server (User ID- LDAP Password - Security Code) during the import.
- If the VIP Enterprise Gateway server from which you are exporting the configuration settings is configured with HTTPS, the SSL certificates for the Console, VIP Manager IdP, and SSP IdP are not imported. As the VIP Enterprise Gateway administrator, you must create these certificates on the target VIP Enterprise Gateway instance if it is to use HTTPS.
- If you are importing SSP IdP components with password reset enabled, you must selecthttps(SSL Enabled) in theProtocolfield of the target instance. You must also generate VIP Integration Code for JavaScript (only once) and add domain names for the SSP IdP and the load balancer in VIP Manager.
