Using SSL certificates to secure VIP Enterprise Gateway

Complete these steps to secure communications across your VIP Enterprise Gateway network using SSL certificates.
You can use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption to secure communications across your VIP Enterprise Gateway network using SSL certificates. After you install the SSL certificate, you can configure VIP Enterprise Gateway to run in secure (HTTPS) mode by enabling SSL for the VIP Enterprise Gateway components. SSL certificates cannot be used in place of VIP certificates when securing connections with the VIP Authentication Service.
You can generate an SSL key and certificate signing request (CSR) in VIP Enterprise Gateway to request a new SSL certificate. Optionally, you can import an existing SSL certificate.
Once the SSL certificate is available for use, you must enable SSL for VIP Enterprise Gateway.
All SSL certificates are listed in a table on the
Settings > SSL Certificates
page. From this page you can do the following actions:
  • Click the name of the SSL certificate to view details about the certificate.
  • Click
    CSR
    in the
    Action
column next to an SSL certificate to open a page where you can copy the certificate signing request (CSR). You can use the CSR to purchase a new SSL certificate.
  • Click
    Install
    in the
    Action
column next to an SSL certificate to open a page where you can paste the CSR that you received in the email. Then you are prompted to install the SSL Certificate
  • Click
    Delete
    in the

You can also import (add) a new SSL certificate from this page.
