Managing the Validation Service

Configure the Validation servers and tunnels that validate authentication requests.
The VIP Enterprise Gateway Validation server is a RADIUS-based authentication service for interfacing with the enterprise network infrastructure. VIP Enterprise Gateway uses RADIUS PAP as the authentication protocol. The password that is used for the first-factor authentication and the security code is combined in various formats to form the validation modes of authentication.
The Validation Service consists of Validation servers and tunnels.
The RADIUS Validation server validates authentication requests for the following validation types (also known as authentication modes):
  • User ID - Security Code mode validates the User ID against the user store, then validates the Security Code through the Validation service.
  • User ID - Access PIN - Security Code mode validates the User ID against the user store, then validates the Access PIN and Security Code through the Validation service.
  • User ID - LDAP Password - Security Code mode validates the User ID and the LDAP password against the user store, then validates the Security Code through the Validation service.
You must add at least one Validation server, after which you can choose to add more servers to allow more authentication modes. Each Validation server supports only one authentication mode.
