Managing VIP Enterprise Gateway logs
Complete these steps to configure VIP Enterprise Gateway logs.
The VIP Enterprise Gateway logging component collects logging and audit event information from each of the following VIP Enterprise Gateway components, and logs it to text files. You configure the log settings for most components when you configure that component.
- VIP Enterprise Gateway log files are available at the following VIP Enterprise Gateway logs directory:
- On Windows:<INSTALL_DIR>\logs
- On Linux:/opt/Symantec/VIP_Enterprise_Gateway/logs
- Validation servers logs are written to<INSTALL_DIR>/Validation/servers/<server-name>/logs. Separate logs are written to sub-directories for each validation server you create.
- My VIP and Self Service Portal access logs are written to<INSTALL_DIR>/IDP/services/SSP/logs.
- VIP Manager access logs are written to<INSTALL_DIR>/IDP/services/VIPMGR/logs.
- LDAP Directory Synchronization Service logs are written to<INSTALL_DIR>/LdapSync/services/ldapSync/logs.
You can also access these logs from the
Logs
page. Click on a log file name in either the Current Logs
tab or the Archived Logs
tab to view the entire log. Click Download
when viewing the log details to download the log file.By default, VIP Enterprise Gateway logs are written in a basic format. You can configure VIP Enterprise Gateway to write logs in the Common Event format.
Also, many of the logs can be written to a Syslog server.
