Creating and Editing LiveUpdate Deployment Groups

Using deployment groups, you can update DLP Agents in batches and also mitigate the load on the LiveUpdate server and the corporate network. You can also restrict certain updates to specific deployment groups.

  1. In the Enforce Server administration console, navigate to
    System > Agents > LiveUpdate
    .
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To create a new deployment group, click
      Create Group
      . The
      Create Group
      dialog box appears.
    • To edit an existing deployment group, click the name of the deployment group in the table. The
      Edit Group
      dialog box appears.
  3. In the
    Name
    box, enter or update the name of the deployment group.
  4. In the
    Description
    box, enter or update the description of the deployment group.
  5. In the
    Select An Attribute To Filter Agents
    menu, select the agent attribute that you want to use to filter agents in the deployment group. You can use custom agent attributes to filter agents as well. For more information, see Creating an Agent Attribute.
    You can use more than one agent attribute to filter agents.
  6. Depending on the agent attribute that you selected, enter values that you want to use to filter agents in the text box that appears. Use commas to separate multiple values or enter each value on a separate line. The text box supports regular expressions.
    Alternatively, to remove an agent attribute from the filtering criteria, click the
    X
    button to delete the text box that contains filter values for that agent attribute. To delete the existing values, click
    Clear
    .
  7. (Optional) In the
    Always Include These Agents
    box, enter the names of agents that you want to manually include in the deployment group regardless of filtering criteria. Use commas to separate multiple values or enter each value on a separate line. The
    Always Include These Agents
    box does not support regular expressions.
    To remove the agents that you manually added to the deployment group, click
    Clear
    in the
    Always Include These Agents
    box.
  8. Click
    Save
    to save the deployment group, or click
    Cancel
    to close the dialog box without saving.
