Deploying DLP Agent Updates Using LiveUpdate

Follow these steps to enable and configure LiveUpdate for Symantec Data Loss Prevention and to deploy agent updates using LiveUpdate.

Deploying DLP Agent Updates Using LiveUpdate

Step 1
Decide whether you want agents to download updates from the Symantec LiveUpdate server or from an internal LiveUpdate server that your organization controls.
Step 2
Using the Enforce Server administration console, enable LiveUpdate in the agent configuration and specify which LiveUpdate server you are using.
Step 3
Create one or more deployment groups to control which agents receive updates. If you have already created deployment groups, skip this step.
Optionally, create a custom agent attribute to gain more granular control over which agents are added to the deployment group.
Step 4
Check to see whether new agent updates are available.
Step 5
Initialize LiveUpdate for one or more deployment groups.
In addition, you can generate a report to view the status of the ongoing updates.
Step 6
When LiveUpdate displays a completion status, verify that the agents in the selected deployment groups have been updated successfully.
Optionally, troubleshoot any issues or failures that were identified during the update.
