Enable Safari Web Apps Monitoring

Enable monitoring on the Safari browser for the macOS 14 Web Apps feature.
You can monitor data that is accessed through the Safari Web App feature by adding an item to the
Global Application File Access
screen.
The following table lists Safari Web App monitoring support.

File upload operations are monitored. The system logs the Endpoint Application File Access incident type that displays
com.apple.WebKit.Networking
as the application name on the
Incident Details
screen.
Domain filters
Print jobs are monitored. The system logs the Endpoint Printer/Fax' incident type that displays
Web App
as the application name on the
Incident Details
screen.
Paste monitoring
Outlook on the Web is monitored. The system logs the Endpoint Email/SMTP incident type and displays the applicable application name on the
Incident Details
screen.

Enabling Safari Web Apps Monitoring

  1. Enter the following information under the
    Application Information
    section:
    • Name
      :
      WebApps
    • Binary Name
      :
      Web App
  2. Select
    Generic
    in the
    Application Type
    list.
  3. Select the following in the
    Application Monitoring Configuration
    section.
    • Destinations
      • Removable Storage
      • Printer/Fax
    • Application File Access
      • Application File Access
      • Open
    • Network Shares
      • Copy to Network Shares
  4. Save your changes.
