Including Click-through Capability Using the Dashboard Wizard
Dashboard designers can include sub-charts on a dashboard when creating the dashboard, or later, by editing the dashboard. The click-through capability is available for chart widgets.
To include click-through capability to sub-charts or dashboards on a widget, do the following:
- Click
(gear) on the widget that will have the click-through capability to edit the settings. - Select the sub-chart type orDashboardin the Drill Down field.
- ClickAdd.
- (Chart only) Configure the chart query as follows:
- Select the type of query. The options are MDX/Cube Query or SQL/Database Query.
- Select the connection.
- Enter the server name. This is the server that has the data.
- Select the database.
- (MDX query only) Select the cube to query.
- (Optional) ClickCache Queryto cache the query results.
- Define the query as follows:Modifying an MDX query using the Query Editor invalidates and disables the Query Designer for the widget.
- For an MDX query, select the fields by dragging the field to the Selected Fields area, and entering additional query specifications in the MDX Segments area. The Query Editor can also be used to enter an MDX query.
- For a SQL query, enter a query in the Query Editor area.When defining a Gantt chart, ensure there are start and end date columns for each result. The date columns must bedatetimetypes.
- ClickGenerate Columnsunder the Columns tab to generate the columns for the query.
- (Optional) Edit the column elements listed in the Column Source area by clicking an element, and selectingEdit. After you have made your changes, clickUpdateto save.You can customize elements, such as the following:
- Change the text that appears for the Measure Label
- Set word wrap for displayed text
- Define which columns are exportable to Microsoft Excel
- Set the number format
- Set the Group By option
Only one column can be selected as the Group By column.For Gantt charts, ensure that the start and end date columns are identified in the Column Collection section. - (Optional) Set colors for the chart. Colors can be set by returned results order or by measure. For information about setting colors, refer to Setting Custom Colors.
- ClickUpdateto save the edits.
- ClickSaveto save the sub-chart settings.
- (Dashboard only) Select the dashboard for the click-through, and then clickSave.
- (Optional, chart only) Repeat the preceding steps to add another sub-chart or dashboard to the sub-chart.
- ClickSaveto save the widget, and then clickSaveto save the dashboard.
Editing a Click-through Chart Using the Dashboard Wizard
To edit a click-through chart or dashboard using the dashboard wizard, do the following:
- In theSymantec ICAAdministration section, selectDashboards, and then selectDashboards.
- Right-click the dashboard name, and selectEdit.
- Select the widget that has the sub-chart or dashboard.
- Click
(gear) on the widget. - ClickEditin the Drill Down section.A click-through chart or dashboard can be removed by clickingDelete.
- Edit the sub-chart or select a different dashboard, as needed.
- ClickSaveto save your changes, and then clickSaveto save the chart.
- ClickSaveto save the dashboard.
