About Metrics

Metrics are displayed in dashboards and scorecards. Dashboards provide custom metric information for specific users and groups. Scorecards are collections of risk metrics that are customized to align key values and business goals. There are several out-of-the-box metrics that can be leveraged after
Symantec ICA
installation.
Metrics are individual building blocks in
Symantec ICA
that contain relevant information about specific security data that a user wants to monitor in their environment. The metrics represent the alignment of key values or intersections of security data points with the intent of monitoring specific business goals. Typically, metrics are defined by the security administrators.

    SQL Detail Configuration Fields
    Detail Field
    Description
    Decimal Places
Sets the number of decimal places to display for the metric. This field is available for percentage and ratio metrics.
    Denominator Metric Key
Sets the metric for the denominator. This field is available for percentage and ratio metrics.
    Description
Provides the text description for the metric. This description appears on scorecards that use the metric.
    Detail Query Type
Sets the type of query. Options are MDX and SQL.
    Display Name
Sets the name of the metric to display in
    Symantec ICA
    section.

Sets the metric for the numerator. This field is available for percentage and ratio metrics.
    Score Weight
Sets the value that controls the order of the metric as listed in the News section of the Analysis homepage. The higher the number, the higher the metric displays in the list.
    Status Threshold
Sets the threshold for the metric status.
    Total Metric Count
Sets the value that controls what is displayed in the Details table of the metric view (Details View only). Options are as follows:
