About the SEP Mobile Integration
As part of the business/enterprise web security solution portfolio, the
Web Security Service
integrates with the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Mobile service. Registered devices protect employees from web threats and enforce acceptable web use polices established by your company. You can instantly disconnect lost or compromised devices from your network.Before mobile devices with the
SEP-Mobile
app can connect, you must integrate your WSS
account with your SEP-Mobile
Manager account.The new SEP-Mobile architecture is considered early access availability. Further information and best practices might be added to this topic as necessary.
Technical Requirements
- Admin access on theWSSportal.
- Admin access on the EndpointSEP-MobileManager portal.
- SEP-Mobilehonors the sameWSS Agentport settings as configured on theConnectivity > WSS Agentpage:
- TheForwarding Ports.
- TheFailure Behaviorsetting.
- If the Cloud Firewall Service (CFS) is entitled, traffic from all ports.
Migration High Level Procedure
If your account has the previous
SEP-Mobile
solution in place, perform the following steps to migrate:- InWSS, generate a new integration token (Connectivity > Setup and Configuration > Symantec Endpoint Security).
- In theSEP-MobileManager, navigate toIntegrations > Security Gatewayand clickClear Configuration.
- Enter the new token.
- SelectGateway Symantec Web Security Service.
- Validatethe configuration.
- On the mobile device, confirm that the VPN profile isSymantec Endpoint Protection XNDC.
New Installation High Level Procedure
The integration procedure requires the following steps:
- InWSS, generate an integration token (Connectivity > Setup and Configuration > Symantec Endpoint Security).
- Add the token to Endpoint Manager Mobile and validate.
- Deploy theSEP-Mobileapp for iOS or Android onto mobile devices.
- InWSS, define use and security policies that apply to mobile devices.
