Schedule Report Generation
If personnel in your company are required to see the same
Web Security Service
report on a periodic basis, schedule when the reports generate and configure the service to save the file or e-mail it. You can generate the report in one of three formats:
- PDF—Opens with Adobe Acrobat/Reader.
- CSV—Comma-delineated file that opens with a compatible spreadsheet application (such as Excel).If the generated report begins with incorrect characters—for example:Category—switch to theCSV (Raw)format.
- XML—Exports report data in standard XML format to be opened by external applications.
Procedure
- NavigateReport Center.
- Two locations provide access to the scheduler:
- Individual report pages—click theScheduleicon.
- TheReport CenterandReportslinks—selectSchedulefrom theActionsdrop-down lists.

- Specify the schedule.

- Select theFormatthat the report saves asPDF,CSVorCSV (Raw), orXML.
- Select theActionto take when the report generates:
- Archive report to server—TheWSSsaves the generated report and displays it in theRecent Archived Reportsarea on allReportslink tabs.
- Send report by email—TheWSSgenerates the report and sends it to the specified recipient(s). This is an effective way to send targeted information to different personnel who are responsible for managing or monitoring specific information.
- Select the number ofRows. If using theE-mailaction, consider size limitations of the recipient's inbox.
- Specify when and how often the report generates.
- Select theFrequency:Daily,Weekly, orMonthly.
- Select theRun Time, which is the hour of the day.
- Select aRun Dayoption to specify on which day, in conjunction with theFrequency, the report runs (this option does not display if theFrequencyisDaily).
- If you set theFrequencytoWeekly, select a day of the week.
- If you set theFrequencytoMonthly, select theFirst DayorLast Dayof the month or aCustomday.Important:If you select theLast Dayoption, the report runs on the final day of month regardless of the number of days. For example, February 28th or July 31st. If you require a strict 30-day interval for the data, see the next option.
- Select aDate Filter. ThePreviousoption changes to match theFrequencyselection. TheAll datesoption generates the report using the date filter that is applied to that report.
- Accept the defaultDescriptionor enter a custom one.
- ClickSchedule.
