The installation directory structure is shown in

products use the same basic installation directory structure.
In

- BASEDIR, which is not an environment variable, is used in documentation to represent the top-level directory structure of anVMware Smart Assuranceproduct software installation.For RHEL/CentOS, this location is /opt/InCharge/<product>.BASEDIR represents:
- ForMPLS Management Suite—<installation_root_directory>/MPLS
- ForIP Manager—<installation_root_directory>/IP
- For —<installation_root_directory>/SAM
- For —<installation_root_directory>/ESM
- For —<installation_root_directory>/NPMBy default,VMware Smart Assurancesoftware is installed to BASEDIR/smarts.Optionally, you can specify the root of BASEDIR to be something different, but you cannot change the <product> location under the root directory.
- TheVMware Smart Assurancesm_edit utility ensures that modified files are always saved to the appropriate local area and that base (original) copies of the files remain unchanged.
