Configuring
the
IP Manager
consists of the following tasks:- Configure theIP Managerwith the SM_IP_VERSIONS environment variable for name resolution and server-to-server communication.
- Configure theIP Managerto discover, monitor, and analyze the network devices.
- Enable light discovery for the satelliteDomain Managers (optional).
- Configure ICMP and SNMP polling forIP Availability ManagerandIP Performance Manager(optional).
- Configure ICMP and SNMP thresholds for theIP Availability ManagerandIP Performance Manager(optional).
- Create CLI device-access objects for the satelliteDomain Managers (optional)
- Create IP tag filters to enableIP Availability ManagerandIP Performance Managerto model overlapping IP addresses (optional).
- Configure policies to manage discovered objects, to determine which objects are to be monitored by theIP Managers (optional).“Policy Settings to control the managed state of interfaces” on page 118, provides information for performing this task.
