Opening the Domain Manager Administration Console
You can open a Domain Manager Administration Console view from any Global Consolethat is attached to a Domain Manageror a Domain Managercomponent server, such as the Topology Browser Console in
Figure 2 on page 17
, by selecting the Configure > Domain Manager Administration Console
menu option.To open the Domain Manager Administration Console:
- Start theGlobal Console:
- On a UNIX system, go to the BASEDIR/smarts/bin directory in theService Assurance Manager (Global Manager) installation area and type:sm_guiTo view more sm_gui options, typesm_gui --help.
- PressEnter.TheAttach Managerdialog box opens as shown in Attach Manager dialog box.Attach Manager dialog box

- In the dialog box:
- Ensure that the VMware Smart AssuranceBroker for your deployment appears in theBrokertext box.
- Click theManagerlist box or theBrowsebutton to display a list of active (running) Managers, and from that list select the Domain Manager (for example, INCHARGE-AM) in your deployment as the Managerto which you want to connect.
- Type your login username and password.
- ClickOK.TheTopology Browser Consoleopens. If you selected a Global Manager, aNotification Log Consoleview of the Global Console will open by default.
- On theTopology Browser Console, selectConfigure>Domain Manager Administration Console. TheDomain Manager Administration Consoleopens, an example of which is shown in Domain Manager Administration Console.In the example display, theDomain Manager Administration Consoleis attached to an IP Availability Managerapplication named IP92.Domain Manager Administration Console
