CLI commands overview

The
MPLS Topology Server
component of
uses CLI commands to perform CLI discovery for any of the following conditions:
  • SNMP discovery fails.
  • MIB is not supported by the target device.
  • MIB cannot provide the required information.
    For these conditions, the
    MPLS Topology Server
establishes a Telnet, SSH1, or SSH2 connection to the target device and issues specific CLI “show” commands to discover MPLS and VPN topology objects and their relationships.
    The
    MPLS Topology Server
also uses CLI commands to execute on-demand LSP ping requests. For LSP ping execution, the
    MPLS Topology Server
establishes a Telnet, SSH1, or SSH2 connection to the target device and issues a specific CLI “ping” command to start the LSP ping, and parses the ping command output to obtain the LSP ping test results.
