Discovery overview

As shown in MPLS Manager discovery,
is split into three components, known as the
MPLS Topology Server
, the
MPLS Monitoring Server
, and the
MPLS Analysis Server
. As their names suggest, one component discovers the MPLS and VPN topology, one component monitors the topology for status updates, and one component analyzes the status updates to diagnose MPLS and VPN impacts. The
MPLS Topology Server
works with
IP Availability Manager
to discover the logical and physical objects in the physical-transport domain, the MPLS domain, and the VPN domain.
