Starting and stopping the
SNMP Trap Adapter

If you installed the
SNMP Trap Adapter
as a service, it automatically starts when the system starts up. The following instructions describe how to use the
sm_service
utility to manually start and stop the
SNMP Trap Adapter
.
To use the
sm_service
utility to install a service or start a service, you must have administrative privileges on the local host.
Issue one of the following from the command line:
BASEDIR
/smarts/bin/sm_service start ic-trapd-receiver
or
BASEDIR
/smarts/bin/sm_service stop ic-trapd-receiver
