Specifying a different Global Manager source
You can specify a different
Global Manager
source for Business Impact Manager
by performing the following two steps:- Remove the currentGlobal Managersource by stopping theBusiness Impact Managerand then restarting it with a startup command line that contains the--norestoreoption.
- Add a newGlobal Managersource by completing the procedure in “Adding the Global Manager as a topology source” on page 96.Including the--norestoreoption in the startup command line will startBusiness Impact Managerwithout restoring any saved objects from its repository file. (Business Impact Managerrepository files are located in theBASEDIR/smarts/local/repos/icf directory.) This mode of startup is necessary to delete from the repository the topology elements associated with theGlobal Managersource that is targeted for source removal.Because theBusiness Impact Managerstartup command created during theService Assurance Managerinstallation does not contain the--norestoreoption, you will need to either temporarily modify theBusiness Impact Managerstartup command (substitute--ignore-restore-errorswith--norestore) or create a new service startup command or a new native startup command that contains the--norestoreoption.
