Use Case 1: Manual Remediation Rule using ServiceNow LCM Action
This topic provides steps to create a Manual Remediation Rule for a ServiceNow Lifecycle Management (LCM) action and execute it from Notification console.
- Go tohttps://Telcocloud serviceassurance-ui-IP.
- Enter theusernameandpassword.
- ClickNext.
- Navigate to .
- ClickAdd.AnAdd Rulepage appears.
- UnderDescription, update the following parameters:
- Name: Provide a name for the Remediation Rule. Only letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores are allowed.
- Description: Provide a description for the Remediation Rule.
- Path Type: From the drop down menu, select the path type asRemediation.
- Rule Type: From the drop-down menu, select the rule type asManual.

- ClickNext.
- UnderEvents & Filters, you haveEventsandFilters.
- ForEvents, select theEvent Name,and class type is, and the root cause from the drop-down menu. For example, Unresponsive, WirelessAccessPoint, and it is not a root cause.
- ForFilters, select theProperty,Expressionfrom the drop-down menu, and enter theValue.The filter is an optional field.
- To add multiple filters, clickAdd Group. TheORcondition tag is used when you add filters from different groups.
- To add multiple properties for a given filter within the same group, clickAdd Condition. TheANDcondition tag is used when you add filters within the same group.

- ClickNext.
- UnderRemediation, update the following parameters.
- Duration: The duration represents the Smoothing Interval for momentary events. Select the duration in seconds.
- Actions: From the drop-down menu, select the required action. Once you select the relevant action, the corresponding parameter field appears and you can enter a message for the parameter.

- ClickSave.
- Select any matching event(Host Unresponsive) from Notification Console.
- Select and right click the Notification, selectRemediation Action.
- Select the newly created manual rule andRun.

- Post the remediation run is completed, you can view status of the rule along with the sub-tasks from theTasks.
