Configuration through
NSX Advanced Load Balancer
UI

This section discusses the configuration of the four properties through
NSX Advanced Load Balancer
UI.
  1. Navigate to
    Applications
    Pools
    . If no pools exist, create one. Otherwise, click the pencil icon in the row of the pool you wish to edit.
  2. Check
    Enable Request Queuing
    box in
    General
    tab and specify number of requests to be queued when pool is full in
    Queue Length
    field.
  3. Specify the relevant fields under
    Fail Action
    tab.
  4. Specify the values for
    Idle Timeout
    ,
    Life Timeout
    ,
    Connection Used Times
    ,
    Cache Connections Per Server
    fields under
    General
    tab:
  5. Specify the following details:
    Deactivate Port Translation
    Select this box to deactivate port translation. This is applicable to both L4 and L7 virtual services.
    Connection Ramp
    Specify the duration for which new connections will be gradually ramped up to a server recently brought online. This is applicable to both L4 and L7 virtual services.
    Default Server Timeout
    Specify a value between 0 milliseconds and 21600000 millisecond (6 hours). Server timeout value specifies the time within which a server connection needs to be established and a request response exchange completes between
    NSX Advanced Load Balancer
    and the server. This is applicable to both L4 and L7 virtual services.
    If the Server Timeout value is not entered, by default, the value will be set to 3600000 milliseconds (1 hour).
    Description
    Specify the pool description.
    Connections per Server
    Specify the maximum number of concurrent connections allowed to each server within the pool. This is applicable to both L4 and L7 virtual services.
    HTTP Server Reselect
    Check
    HTTP Server Reselect
    box when server responds with specific response codes. This is applicable for L7 virtual services.
  6. Click
